Mujeres Latinas is about dreams, ideas, and success. Founded by Adela Dalto, an accomplished singer and songwriter, Mujeres Latinas was originally conceived as a musical presentation for the National Summit on Hispanic Women in Business in Washington D.C. Mujeres Latinas grew from a theme song to become a philosophy of life
to bring Latinas together from around the world to meet, chat, exchange ideas and encourage each other creating an on-line community. One of our core beliefs is that successful people learn from the experiences of others. Latinas should be no different.
Why not browse through our biographies of Latina women? Find a role model. Be inspired. Read about these ordinary women who did extraordinary things and know that you can accomplish whatever you want in life.
The Mujeres Latinas musical group performs Latin music, from Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia,
Latin Rock to Reegeton. A fun group of Latina musicians and singers; their rhythm will drive you to dance and sing along to their theme song, Somos Mujeres Latinas. Then again you may prefer to watch these wonderful performers instead, but it will be hard to stay still in your seat.
They have performed at city parks, parades and corporate events and organizations as Somos El Futuro Conference. They are the featured group at the annual Young Woman’s Empowerment Fair & Concert at Hostos Community College.
Adela Dalto leads the group, contributing her years of experience on the Latin Jazz scene having performed with her own Quintet and with Mario Bauza, Mauricio Smith, Jerry Gonzalez, and Lee Konitz among others. The members of Mujeres Latinas all have performed with their own groups and with various others bands such as Mario Rivera’s Merengue-Jazz, Annette Aguilar and Stringbeans, and Jimmy Bosch. Watching this group of women perform is quite an attraction. From the vocalists to seeing each woman play her instrument, the music is exciting and fun. Adela Dalto and the group is also available for workshops and forums.
